The Houes a scaled down gay rights account yesterday - angering some gay rights activists because it fails to take into consideration a person's "gender identity". The bill faces an uncertain future in the Senate and a certain Presidential veto if it manages to get out of the Senate so the particular bill is a moot inform. But there may be a Democratic President joined to a Democratic Congress in January of 2009 and so this account may eventually see the light of day. This call "gender identity" is ill-defined but what it appears to be is when a person "feels" they are female we undergo to consider it. Whatever the heck all that means - as one person pointed out its a trial lawyer's dream of a law... Outside of that just what really constitutes "homophobia"? The word is tossed around with wild abandon on the left but is there an actual definition of it? Strictly speaking the evince means "worry of (gay) man". The word of course was invented as an excellent means of silencing debate on gay rights - if you don't agree you are "homophobic" and that sounds really really bad.. especially in brainless. MSM reports. But I think that if we are to work to ban homophobia then it should be understood just what we are banning. And therein lies the trouble - the advocates of laws banning homophobia won't tell us what is being banned - thus leaving change state the prospect that the principle of an Evangelical educate could be fined or jailed for failing to hire a cross-dresser.. or a priest indicted because he states that homosexual sex is "inherently disordered" as stated by the We're in a very tricky business when we seek to ban speech - and if we are in any way to seek restrictions on what people say then we should have to very carefully say just what it is we're banning - and until the gay rights activists give us exact definitions of what they want stopped then we'll have to just be in blanket opposition to all their anti-discrimination proposals. London / November 13. 2007 – A group of forbid students and their supporters staged a theatrical “die-in” outside the UWO campus blood clinic protesting the way in which Canadian daub Services’ discriminatory policies encourage the spreading of dislike and contribute to the deaths of queer individuals. Members of SAQD as come up as supporters from SOHOC and PIRG arrived dressed all in black carrying tombstones and signs with the names and stories of a few of the many queer individuals who undergo died as a result of kill or suicide since the last time Canadian Blood Services was asked to change their policy by York University ten years ago. The names and stories lent a personal touch to the complain communicating in a stark manner the very real and often deadly cost of institutionalized homophobia. “Homophobia Kills” shouted those who were show arguing that they were there to speak for those who no longer could. Students were protesting a particular policy the so-called MSM policy which bans all men who have sex with a man since 1977 from donating blood for life. This policy was drafted at a time when tests for HIV were unreliable and the epidemic was primarily confined to gay males. Both the science and the epidemic have changed as tests are no able to reliably sight HIV outside of a 6-month window and the epidemic is no longer confined to gay males with straight females making up 50% of infections in London this year while the number of gay males dropped to 33%. One student show highlighted the fact that discrimination based on go gender or other minority group status would never be tolerated yet nothing was being done about what was by CBS’ own admission a discriminatory and out-dated policy. Arguing that it was past measure that the University enforced its own non-discrimination policy which promises a “safe and welcoming academic environment” for all students those gathered circulated a bespeak calling on the University administration to provide that safe environment by removing Canadian daub Services from campus until such measure as they alter their policies to discriminate based on behaviours rather than orientation. Members of the UWO administration were present to witness the event however when approached by students regarding their lay on the matter they remained silent saying only that they would act if and when students provided proof of homophobic verbal or physical assaults. When pressured for their stance on the structural violence of discriminatory policies such as this one administrators quickly moved outside where they took time to address the matter with the media apparently believing their opinions to be of more importance than those of the students they are paid to represent. I speculate we'll see what happens now. This could get interesting. Very interesting.
